GERALDINE BROOKE

Her style – unique and appealing…
Her look – sophisticated yet personable…
Her voice – vibrant and dynamic…

At a very young age, Geraldine was signed to her first recording contract. She and her co-writer/duo partner were labeled the female equivalent of Simon and Garfunkel. They performed all over the Washington, DC area, toured the East Coast, were broadcast over several local and international radio stations, and appeared on numerous television programs. When her partner decided to pursue a career in art in San Francisco, Geraldine became a solo artist, and worked and recorded with some of Washington, DC's biggest stars like Mary-Chapin Carpenter, producer/guitarist John Jennings, producer/guitarist (now with the Eagles) Steuart Smith, and keyboardist/artist Jon Carroll. Her rich vocal tones and four-octave range are the result of ten years of operatic training, which enabled her to perform classic works from such artists and composers as diverse as Judy Collins, Bonnie Raitt, and Ella Fitzgerald to Handel, Mozart and Puccini. She was also a top vocalist for eight years on radio and in television commercial ads, two of which received Addy and Clio Awards. She became the voice of the United Way's national ad campaign for two years, which lead to performances at the prestigious Kennedy Center with Richie Havens, in front of a very elite audience of former presidents and distinguished actors including President Gerald Ford and acclaimed actor Cary Grant.

Geraldine was also well-respected for her annual benefit concerts for the NIH research hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. She became a regularly featured artist on several television shows, and performed numerous times in local clubs including the renowned Blues Alley to sold-out crowds. Geraldine was selected to sing The National Anthem for the Washington Redskins, and was a regular vocalist singing “God Bless America” before the Washington Bullets games. She and her band also performed at the Austin Opry House as finalists in a national competition.

After winning a spot on “Star Search”, Geraldine decided to relocate to Los Angeles to continue her career as a vocalist and songwriter. She worked on several projects with producers Peter Matz, Trevor Lawrence, and Mike Post, which also included a performance with Smokey Robinson for a charitable event. Geraldine also performed with the amazing singer, Rosemary Butler, for her annual charitable holiday appearances for recovering and disabled children. She worked with Cary Park of Boy Howdy, and during one of her many trips to Nashville, recorded an album of her original material with Curtis Stone (Highway 101). She also appeared on a syndicated television show, and performed at several well-known clubs in Nashville including the famed Bluebird Café.

Geraldine performed in the Los Angeles area for several years with her band and as a solo artist at numerous clubs including the Cinegrill and the former Palomino Club while singing on various film soundtracks. She has performed and recorded with various artists in Nashville, Los Angeles, New York, Washington, DC, and San Francisco.

Her albums of original material, "Songs Of The Heart" and "Oldies But Still Goodies", prove that some things are worth waiting for.
